Sorry for the delay in my response as I am not much of a blogger.

I am not a know it all and I realize that you were just venting some frustrations. I recommend practicing meditation. The reason they call it practicing meditation is because it takes practice. Take a deep breath and focus all you have inward, become so connected to the moment that the past and the future disappear. Get to know yourself intimately. Learn all your quirks. Learn what makes you short circuit. Fall deeply in love with yourself. Take yourself on dates and just sit beaming inside yourself staring deeply into your own eyes. Our society has a disease that causes us to get to know others better then we know ourselves. The problem is that we cannot really know others until we get to know our self. God is that common place inside us all, that still, small voice and so we must go deeply inside as if we are swimming in the depths of our own soul.

Hi, I hope you don’t mind if I dump some issues on you. Your blog is touching on some really relevant struggles for me.

You say “I started meditating upon the issue of the past and realized that some people will not be able to bring their past under the light in this life. Horrible things have happened to people…. in fact SO horrible that these people will only understand it when they stand in death directly before the light of God.”

I’m wondering what you think about how unfair this is? Do these people trapped in the past for their whole lives just have to live with the absolutely humiliating knowledge that everyone is giving them “an extra measure of grace”? Being forever humoured/tolerated isn’t exactly the way I pictured spending the rest of my life but neither did I picture my whole life being coloured and dictated by issues I don’t know how to get rid of. I don’t even know how I got them! How do you rid yourself of your past when you’ve only got 21 years of it? What’s left of a 21 year old who has no past?!

I’d appreciate your thoughts but I’m mostly just feeling a little desperate so the space to comment is nice too…

This is where I have to disagree with you, Joshua. Could it be in fact that Jesus was correct when he said, wide is the road to destruction, narrow the road to eternal life?
Or how about beleiving in the purity of his words when he said, I Am the way, the Only way to the Father?
Jesus Is Enough
He gave the ‘Great Commission’ or orders to spread his words to others hence pastors, groups, cells, churches, ‘institutions’… to help the unbelieving, the lost (e.i. Muslims, Buddists, Wicca Witches) to understand the his good news. JESUS IS ENOUGH

Why would I confine Christ into my ideas?

Could it be possible that all are on the road to enlightenment?

Otherwise why would we exist?

People die from mistakes every day, but why does that have to be the end of the road?

I guess I would ask how you would deal with someone who had what you considered to be a false faith. A Muslim maybe? Or anyone who has faith, but rejects your idea of who God or Christ is. It just seems like you have faith in a more things than just love and so how do you know those are not illusion?

I love questions and if I had it my way I’d force everyone to communicate via questions rather then with answers.

I guess I can say that I don’t believe in blind faith.

The next questions

What are tangible things we can place our faith in?

Do these things make up what people refer to as God?

Is God love?

Hey Josh,
I am coming from a skeptical point of view so don’t take offense at this question (I know you don’t get offended easily).

If a person can have faith in something that ends up being an illusion, how should one go about verifying if there object of faith is real or not? Many say that we “know” God or Christ by faith, but if faith can be misplaced, how do we know if it is in something that is not in fact an illusion?
